(S) On March 13, poloff delivered reftel demarche, which
requested donation of unfunded requirements for Iraq and
Afghan security forces, to MOFAT North America Division III
Deputy Director Park Chi-young. While noting that the ROK
was already a significant contributor to coalition operations
in both Iraq and Afghanistan, Park undertook to study the
lists of unfunded requirements and to distribute them to the
appropriate agencies for consideration.

(S) 3월 13일, 미국대사관 정치부는 외교통상부 북미 3부 부국장 박치영에게
이라크와 아프간의 보안군에 대한 단기적 필요 물품의 원조를 요구하는 관련 전문을 전달했다.
이미 한국은 이라크와 아프가니스탄 합동 작전의 중요한 조력자였다는 것을 언급하면서
박치영은 단기적 필요 물품의 항목들을 자세히 검토하고 이를 해당 부서에 참고하도록
전파하기로 약속했다.
