Incheon Himchan General Hospital announced on March 16 that it held a plaque unveiling ceremony for the medical institution certification as a general hospital for the third term by the Ministry of Health and Welfare.
The medical institution certification system assesses comprehensively the operations of healthcare organizations by the Korea Institute for Healthcare Accreditation under the Ministry of Health and Welfare to improve patient safety and the quality of healthcare services.
Certificates and marks are awarded to medical institutions that meet certain standards.
Incheon Himchan General Hospital was certified for excellence in patient safety and healthcare service quality through a preliminary document review and a four-day on-site inspection.
Dr Kim Bong-ok, president of Incheon Himchan General Hospital said, "With the dedicated efforts of all our employees, we have established a new stage for a strong leap forward.
We will make more efforts to pursue the safety and happiness of our patients, contribute to the community, and serve as a reliable life-time healthcare provider based on high-quality medical services.“
Mr. Lim Youngjin, director of the Korea Institute for Healthcare Accreditation said, "It's already amazing that the hospital was expanded and opened as a general hospital during the difficult time of COVID-19, but passing the accreditation review in the second year of operation is a recognition of their excellence. We hope Incheon Himchan General Hospital develops further to protect patient safety with a high level of medical quality."
